Udaipur is built for looking at. The City Palace rises straight from Lake Pichola, the old town climbs the hills behind it, and almost every rooftop faces the water. Two days is enough to see the palace properly, take a boat at sunset, and wander the lanes without hurrying. The city rewards walking in the early morning and sitting still in the evening.
